sand casting and die casting

Have you ever wondered how they make those metal toys or components that we see every day? It’s pretty interesting! One popular process for producing these metal items is called sand casting. So, what is sand casting? This process involves creating a mold from sand and the special shape that has to be cast called pattern. Once the mold is ready, it pours in liquid metal to make the final product. The sand is very useful as it helps in proper molding the metal, and then after that when we pour out the molten hot bronze into this mould, on cooling of the same with time becomes hardens and can disassemble all sides/moulds. What a great way to get the metal part out of that wet sand!!!

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Die Casting

An alternative technique to produce metal parts is die casting. Die Casting Dies castings work by extremely for high melting temperature metals liquid metal is pressed in to the mold. This means the mold fills with metal very well. And a great thing about die casting is that it allows parts to have tight tolerance shape and size wise, so the final part looks just how we designed. On the other hand, die casting is often more costly than alternatives for metal parts fabrication. Moreover, making changes to the design is not as simple once you have gotten it cast in mold - disadvantage if ever intended too for a later follow-up tweak.
